Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA across the web and iOS apps. We have one known exception, documented below, rather than a claim of full AA conformance.

What's in place today

• Captions. Every video in the feed and in the profile-modal player has a closed-caption toggle, backed by a Mux-generated caption track.
• Transcripts. Every video has a viewer-facing transcript panel — the same text used for search, summaries, and recommendations.
• Playback controls. The autoplaying feed has a visible pause/mute control on web, and tap-to-pause on iOS is exposed to VoiceOver as a real accessibility element.

Known exception: Audio Description (WCAG 1.2.5, Level AA)

Mucho Gusto videos are talking-head selfie intros — the visual channel rarely carries information the audio track doesn't already convey. We rely on the transcript as the media alternative rather than producing a separate audio-described track, which means we don't meet 1.2.5 to the letter even though the substance of what a viewer misses is minimal for this content type. We're documenting the gap rather than claiming conformance we haven't built.

How accurate are the captions?

Captions are auto-generated by Mux and typically land around 90–95% accuracy — they are not human-verified. Any member can correct their own video's transcript from the profile editor; an edit regenerates and replaces the served caption track, so the two stay in sync. Auto-generated captions that haven't been edited may still contain recognition errors.
